BARCELONA - The superstar, Lionel Messi seems to have to bury his dream of beating Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
The reason is his Twitter account, Barcelona said Messi would be sidelined for three weeks after suffering a hand fracture injury when entertaining Sevilla in La Liga at the Camp Nou on Saturday (10/20/2018) or early Sunday morning.
Through his Twitter account, the Blaugrana confirms Messi will be absent for the next three weeks.
"The test shows Lionel Messi has been confirmed to have a right hand fracture. Messi is likely to be out of action for three weeks," the Barcelona club said.
Lionel Messi left the field in the 26th minute in a Barcelona 2-0 lead over Sevilla.
The captain suffered an injury to his elbow on his right arm after landing imperfectly when he fell in the 17th minute.
The Argentine had received treatment and was declared unable to continue the match.
This news is certainly not good news for Barcelona. At least, Messi will return to fit again at the end of November.
With this injury, Messi certainly missed the match against Inter Milan in the Champions League Group B qualifying round on Wednesday (10/24/2018) and Tuesday (11/06/2018).
Messi also could not defend Barcelona in three Spanish League matches, namely against Real Madrid on Sunday (10/28/2018), against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday (3/11/2018), and against Real Betis on Sunday (11/11 / 2018).
